Bodum Assam 34-Ounce Glass Teapot with Stainless-Steel Filter

Bodum Assam 34-Ounce Glass Teapot with Stainless-Steel Filter Reviews

More Picture

Bodum Assam 34-Ounce Glass Teapot with Stainless-Steel Filter Feature

  • 34-ounce glass tea press for loose teas and tea bags; serves 3 or 4 people
  • Borosilicate glass body and handle; stainless-steel infuser; plastic knob
  • Patented system stops brewing when tea is plunged so tea is not bitter
  • Brews tea at preferred strength without a need to remove the infuser
  • Safe in the dishwasher except for rod and lid; also available in cast iron
A smart and elegant design, the Assam tea press from Bodum prevents tea from becoming bitter while showcasing the beauty of brewing. Crafted with a borosilicate glass body and a stainless steel infuser, the press works with loose leaf or bagged teas and lets the user determined the brewing strength. Once plunged, the filter holds the tea below the infuser holes, so brewing is brought to a tidy halt. No removal of the infuser is necessary, and the tea's lovely color is visible all the while. Modeled on traditional teapot shaping, the pot holds 34 ounces, comes with a stay-cool knob, and cleans up in the dishwasher with the lid and rod removed. A 17-ounce version is also available. i--Emily Bedard/i We set out with a goal to make an innovation in tea brewing and the patented Bodum tea press system was born. Brewing loose-leaf tea or tea bags has never been easier ¿ or cleaner. The Bodum Assam Medium Tea Press serves 4 ¿ 5 people and is made from durable, heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Designed after the traditional teapot shape, the Assam embodies a more modern, spout-less look. To brew, simply set the durable stainless steel filter into the glass pot. Fill the strainer with the appropriate amount of your favorite loose-leaf tea. Pour hot water over the leaves, filling the pot. Then set the plunger/lid in place in the up position. Allow the tea to brew to your liking and then press down on the plunger. The press compresses the tea leaves below the infusion holes in the strainer; completely stopping the brewing process. The Assam Tea Press puts an end to bitter, over brewed tea. Once you press, you can rest assured that your first cup and your third cup will taste exactly the same. There's no need to remove the filter and there's no mess. What you have left is the true unforgettable and delicious taste of your preferred tea. Some teas can even be brewed a second or third time, making the Shin Cha tea press the perfect choice. Just stir up the tea leaves and fill the pot back up with hot water, repeating the process. It is a clean and easy way to enjoy loose-leaf tea whether it is black, green, white, blooming or herbal tea. The clear glass leaves the infusion remain visible at all times, making it a very attractive table piece. The Assam is dishwasher safe and the glass teapot is microwave safe. The glass Assam Tea Press is available in both small (2 cup - 0.5 l, 17 oz.) and medium (4 cup - 1.0 l, 34 oz.) sizes. This medium version has a 1.0 l, 34 oz. capacity.

Old Dutch 48-Ounce Cast-Iron Mythology Teapot, Red

Old Dutch 48-Ounce Cast-Iron Mythology Teapot, Red Reviews

More Picture

br /br /To start off, I picked this up from amazon about two years ago (from the date of this review).br /br /I had one pot with the handle unattached arrive in ok packing. I called the company (not amazon) and confirmed my purchase and a replacement was mailed that day. They were quite apologetic and quick to respond. Thumbs up to the company. The second replacement pot was flawless.br /br /Bottom line: It works. It's not the most pretty, the red paint is industrially applied. It looks good enough though, not a showpiece but functional and decent enough. The black enamel inside makes this pot easy to clean. I put a cloth or paper towel on a large spoon or chopstick to get in the hard to reach spots and done. Outside cleans just as easily and does not stain. br /br /No paint chipping, no rust, no wear, no problems after two years. The only heads up is this is not lightweight. If you have wrist, shoulder, or even back difficulties you may want to reconsider a purchase.

Old Dutch 48-Ounce Cast-Iron Mythology Teapot, Red Feature

  • Old Dutch Mythology teapot; 48-ounce capacity
  • Cast iron coated inside with black enamel to prevent rust
  • Flattened sphere with cast dragon design
  • Weathered red finish
  • Stainless-steel infuser included; wash teapot by hand
Old Dutch cast-iron teapots combine traditional Japanese styling and a modern aesthetic that result in very evocative shapes. The largest of the line with a capacity of 48 ounces, the Mythology teapot forms a wide, flattened sphere balanced by a graceful spout and arching handle. A fabulous dragon design is cast onto the red, weathered-look surface, giving an air of antiquity. Perhaps a bit heavier than many teapots, the heft and visual splendor might just turn the act of making tea into a flight of fancy. p Iron teapots traditionally used in Japan are known as tetsubin, which were used to boil water as well as brew tea. However, the Mythology teapot is meant only for brewing, not for boiling on a stovetop. Old Dutch uses a specially purified cast iron for its teapots, and coats the insides with black enamel to help prevent rusting. Unlike ceramic teapots, the heavy cast iron retains heat wonderfully and won't chip. After use, the pot is best cared for when rinsed and dried by hand before storing. A stainless-steel infusing basket that hangs from the rim is included to facilitate brewing with loose tea leaves. I--Ann Bieri/I 48 Oz. Red Cast Iron Mythology Teapot
